The Falls

The final sound of my walk was of the falls in the center of town and the traffic on the street running right by it. A really interesting sounding car passed while I was recording. Listen here.

Lime Kiln

I passed through a park that was just off the main drag. It was dusk and mostly quiet, except for a few people leaving just as I was coming. Here's what I heard.

Sirens

Once I got to the one of the main streets in the suburb, I began hearing more of the sounds that come with heavy traffic, including what happens when you go too far over the 30mph speed limit. Listen here.

Wind Chimes

While still in the neighborhood, I passed a house with all sorts of chimes making lots and lots of noise.

Lawn Mower

I started my soundwalk in a neighborhood. While I was walking I passed someone mowing their lawn. The mixture of the lawnmower being old and dry, dead leaves in the grass made some interesting nuances in the sound.

Strategy and Map -Menomonee Falls, WI

I planned on using the zig-zag approach to sound collecting in order to fully experience my surroundings in the main part of Menomonee Falls. If I hit a dead end, I would've turned back and picked up the pattern where I left off before the dead end. But luckily I never had to do that. Unfortunately, ditz that I sometimes am, my strategy didn't include taking a camera with me when I actually did the walk to take reference shots. I had to go back the next day to take pictures, so bear with me on that. Trust me, they're a lot better than what my own artistic renderings would have been.
